Victoria & Albert Museum Dundee

After wide acclaim and positive reception in London, Victoria & Albert Museum reopened the Design & Disability exhibition on the 4th June 2026 to the 4th October 2026 in Dundee, Scotland to showcase various designs made for and by people with disabilities to be more accommodating, accessible, as well as expressive and reflective of who they are and challenge norms and biases within the design industry.

As a result, our Puteh Murni gets a second chance to shine as an elegant combination of cultural traditions and adaptive innovations that make it wearable and fashionable for all bodies. Repurposed bedsheets, curtains and table runners are elevated into a beautiful and versatile combination of a kurta with shoulder buttons and detachable sleeves for a quick summer switch, dhoti-styled pants with velcro side openings and a removable long vest.

By intersecting diverse cultures and bodies and amplifying their voices in design spaces, Puteh Murni demonstrates how unused fabrics can be given new life as a stylish and sustainable fashion set that is wearable and adjustable in the long term.

Reopening the exhibition at Dundee not only continues expanding public visibility by letting other people have a chance to witness and admire the world of inclusive design, but gives people who are often overlooked within the creative space another opportunity to celebrate diversity, creativity and sustainability.
